Positions Available--Development Coordinator
Development Coordinator
Boaz & Ruth is seeking a Development Coordinator for 15-30
hours/week.
Founded in 2002, Boaz & Ruths mission is
to rebuild lives and communities through relationships, transitional jobs, and
economic revitalization.
Reporting to and in partnership with the Director of Development, the
Development Coordinator will support and enhance development efforts as Boaz
& Ruth continues to grow.
Responsibilities include:
- Help develop and execute annual development
strategy and plan.
- Train and lead volunteers to support fundraising
efforts.
- Write grant proposals and reports to corporate,
foundation, government and church funders
- Maintain constituent database and paper records
of contributors and grants. Maintain
security and quality controls. Generate
queries, reports, exports and any other collection data as needed. Manage relationship with database vendor.
- Write appeals and acknowledgement letters, the
annual report, newsletters and content for website; maintain regular correspondence
with funders; oversee mailings.
- Assist with event planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in fund development.
- High energy, positive, can-do attitude,
flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative.
- Strong verbal communication skills and
demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively; ability to participate in
public speaking events.
- Good computer skills and knowledge of database
programs.
- Connection to the Richmond community is a plus.
The successful
applicant will work well in multicultural teams and with diverse
constituencies. S/he will be
self-motivated, work well under pressure and be able to handle several projects
