 Food Service Team Member – Front End Manager

Purpose of Position: Provide leadership in support of operation of Firehouse 15 Catering and Café operations
Reports to: Food & Beverage Director
Collaborates with: Food Service Kitchen Staff

Priority #1:  Adhere to essential program participant functions
Objectives (Performance Measure)
•    Attend and participate in all required classes (training and developmental programs) and retreats.
•    Report to project assignment and carry out responsibilities as identified below
•    Attend and participate in all connecting events such as Diamond Talent Search, Highland Park Community Day, Beyond Dialog, MLK Program, Long Walk to Freedom, Diamond Debut (Gala), etc.
•    Fill-in as needed to support other service assignments.
•    Communicate to supervisor any difficulties in understanding tasks or assignments.

Priority #2: Oversee restaurant customer service
Objectives (Performance Measures)
•    Prepare for restaurant opening
•    Oversee and assist with restaurant operations including
o    Customer service
o    Interface with kitchen staff
o    Processing cash, on account and credit card transactions
o    Identifying and resolving customer concerns.
o    Establish and maintain current customer and potential customer relationships.
o    Reconciling on daily cash, charge, on account transactions and accompanying logs
•    Prepare and submit routine reports related to restaurant operations, catering and on-account transactions
•    Coordinate maintenance of general decorum of restaurnat

Firehouse and Kitchen Maintenance

Purpose of Position: Performs routine maintenance duties at Firehouse 15 Café and Shops
Reports to: Food and Beverage Director
Collaborates with: Members of Staff and Coworkers

•    Report to project assignment and carry out responsibilities as identified below

Priority #2: Restaurant Maintenance
Objectives (Performance Measures)
•    Empty trash cans in offices, clean bathroom commodes, sinks, walls, mirrors, fixtures and floors for all office buildings and stores
•    Clean and maintain restaurant to include wet mopping, cleaning tables, sweeping,  and removing trash
•    Clean and maintain rest rooms; clean sinks, toilets, walls, mirrors, fixtures, dust mop floors and wet mop floors; Ensure sufficient stock of paper towels, tissue and soap
•    Utilize tools and equipment necessary to complete job and/or unscheduled task
•    Follow safety rules when operating equipment
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Priority #3: Kitchen Maintenance
Objectives (Performance Measures)
•    Clean and stock dishes, pots and pans and cutlery using dishwasher and sink equipment
•    Ensure sufficient stock of paper towels, tissue and soap
•    Utilize dishwasher and other tools and equipment necessary to complete job and/or unscheduled task
•    Follow safety rules when operating equipment
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Moving Team Driver

Purpose of Position: Handle all moving, donation pick-up, delivery and facility-to-facility transfer requests
Reports to: Moving Team Leader
Collaborates with: Interior Designer, Sales Team Members, Retail Manager, Refinishing

Physical Demands/Job Requirement:
•    Strength – ability to lift minimum of 20# and maximum of 75# by self and with assistance 200# or greater
•    Movement – individual is to be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle large and small items, as well as fingering small and large items
•    Valid Virginia Drivers License

•    Pack, load and transfer furniture and other household and office goods
•    Make facility-to-facility transfers between warehouse and other B&R sites

•    Complete paperwork in accurate and timely manner

Priority #3: Operate B&R vehicles safely in accordance with city and state laws and regulations

Parable Restoration Team Member

Purpose of Position:  To assist in  all aspects of furniture restoration and refinishing including pick-up, restoration and repair, and delivery

Reports to: Parable Restoration Team Leader

Collaborates with: Stores, Moving and Facilities Maintenance

Knowledge of:
•    Proper usage of power tools and safety procedures for same.
•    Proper usage of restoration chemicals, paints and varnish removers and safety procedures for same.
•    Identification of different wood types and their ability to be repaired.
•    Staining and coloring techniques (oil-based, acrylic, aniline dyes)
•    Identification of antique furniture and if repairs needed, whether it is advisable to repair or sell as is
•    Burning using shellac sticks
•    Work flow (coordinating repairs to maximize efficiency of time)

Physical Demands:
•    Strength – ability to lift minimum of 20# and maximum of 75# by self and with assistance 150#.
•    Movement – individual is to be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle large and small items, as well as fingering small and large items
•    Vision – clarity of vision (normal or corrected) near and far, depth perception, color vision and field of vision

•    Assist if necessary in Receiving calls and collects information needed:  date of request, name, address, phone number, description of item(s), # of items to be restored or refinished. (Thoroughness and accuracy of call information)
•    Assist if necessary in setting up time for pickup and estimator to review item(s) so an estimate on restoration or refinishing and timeframe for when the item will be returned can be done. (Scheduling efficiency)


Priority #4: Quality Control

Objectives (Performance Measures)
•    Maintains records on all items for repair – tagged with name, address, phone no., date item came in, detailed description of work to be done, and date work expected to be completed. (Records are accurate and  up-to-date)
•    Maintain standards for quality of work for restoration and refinishing. (All restoration work meets or exceeds customer expectation)


Priority #5: Assist in Facilities Maintenance

Objectives (Performance Measures
•    Conduct facilities maintenance assignments including but not limited to cleaning and painting; demolition and removal of debris; removing or replacing appliances and fixtures; repairing walls, doors and windows; replacing or repairing electrical or plumbing fixtures
•    Utilize tools and equipment necessary to complete job and/or unscheduled task
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Purpose of Position: Store Sales. Manage quality and consistency of product and services.

 Connecting Team Member/Leader 

Priority #1:  Provide receptionist services for Main Office (3030 Meadowbridge)

·      Answer phone, take and deliver messages, and interacts with visitors in accordance with established procedures

·      Maintain a welcoming, hospitable personality

·      Friendliness – speaking with everyone who enters the store and directing them to the right person or give them the needed information

·      Ensure we do not have people using the reception area as a lounge area

·      Direct community members to computers for public use

·      Ensure computer lab is being utilized by past and current program participants

·      Responsible for copy machines in Harvest Thrift building and Benefield Office Building including maintenance, supplies, appropriate paper

·      Maintain schedule of meeting space and their availability

·      Support curriculum team – print out and post current calendar

·      Literature updated and distributed to all Boaz + Ruth locations

Boaz & Ruth seeks a full-time Director of Development to administer and grow a program that maximizes fundraising within the organization’s strategic plan, objectives, and goals. 
 
Priorities include:
¨  Managing the cultivation and stewardship efforts of individual, corporate, foundation, church and civic donors
¨  Planning & implementing the annual campaign, including the coordination of major gift efforts
¨  Identifying, writing and managing grant applications
 -  Working closely with marketing of B&R vision and the B&R revitalization enterprises
 
Qualifications desired include:
¨ At least 5 years experience in fundraising (CFRE preferred)
¨ High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative
¨ Strong verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively
¨ Demonstrated ability to think strategically and thorough understanding of strategic development
