Roles and Responsibilities:
Position provides organization wide accounting support.
FINANCIAL: 1. Interfaces with management and accounting staff. • Hands on with the day to day accounting and bookkeeping function of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger month end processing, financial statement preparation. • Ability to research and analyze complex accounting transactions. • Proficiency in accounting system use. • Research of budget to actual variances. • Reconciliation of bank accounts. • Responsible to adherence of financial policies and procedures.
2. Represents organization in financial matters in the external community. • Participates in the annual audit, coordinates and prepares audit materials, schedules and documentation. • Provides support and reporting to the Board of Directors, Finance Committee. • Provides financial information and data in compliance to grant making authorities, donors, governmental bodies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of a associate’s degree in accounting and/or related field and three years experience with financial systems, preferably in a non-profit. The ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles with sound judgment and reasoning, in a challenging accounting environment with multiple transactions. Mastery of multitasking, excellent organization skills, commitment to follow through A team player with good interpersonal skills to relate to people with diverse education, economic and cultural backgrounds.
